Hydroseed or sod — which should I choose?
Hydroseed costs a fraction of sod and works best on large areas — you will have an established lawn in a season. Sod costs more but gives you a usable lawn almost immediately. We will price both so you can decide.
When is the best time to hydroseed in Maine?
Late spring and late summer into early fall are ideal — warm soil and reliable moisture. We schedule around your project so the ground is not sitting bare any longer than it has to.
How long until I can use a hydroseeded lawn?
You will see germination in one to two weeks and a mowable lawn in four to six, with full establishment over the first season. We give you simple watering instructions that make or break the result.
How much does hydroseeding cost in Maine?
Typical residential hydroseeding lands between $150 and $400 per 1,000 square feet once the ground is graded and loamed. Bare-ground prep is a separate line. We price both so you see the full number.
Do you hydroseed after a septic install?
Yes — we grade, loam and hydroseed the disturbed area so the field comes back as lawn. It is the usual finish on our own septic jobs and we will do it as a standalone if another contractor left bare ground.
