Planting & Garden Beds

We build planting beds the way we build walls — starting with what is underneath. Soil amended, edges cut clean, hardy perennials and shrubs matched to your exposure and the Maine climate, finished in dark mulch with stone accents. The result is a landscape that looks better in year three than the day we left.

Questions

Straight answers.

Will the plants survive Maine winters?

We plant for zone 5 and colder microclimates, favoring proven hardy species and natives. Anything marginal, we tell you up front so there are no spring surprises.

Do you handle steep or hard-to-plant slopes?

Slopes are a specialty — we combine terracing, boulder placement and deep-rooting plants to hold the grade and turn a mowing hazard into a garden.

Can you design the beds, or do I need a plan already?

We design as part of the job. Walk us through what you like — colors, maintenance level, views you want framed — and we bring the plant plan with the estimate.
